Danube Delta Trip –  4 – 5 Hours

TULCEA –MILA 36 CHANNEL –SIREASA CHANNEL –SONTEA VECHE CHANNEL –  BACLANESTI LAKE – FORTUNA LAKE – SONTEA CHANNEL – OLGUTA CHANNEL – MILA 23 VILLAGE (OPTIONAL STOP 1 H FOR LUNCH) – RETURN SONTEA CHANNEL – BABARADA CHANNEL – SULINA CHANNEL – TULCEA

One of the most successful routes, longer and more diversified. You have the opportunity to arrive in the middle of Danube Delta, in the fishing village Mila 23. Called “Romanian Venice “, it still preserves very well the typology of the traditional lipovan village.

The channels traveled so far, will reveal specific flora and fauna of this unique region in Romania. You will have enough time to take pictures and admire the vegetation and birds, and discover traditional romanian village with its authentic and pitoresque appearance. Lakes on the route are part of the lake complex “Sontea-Fortuna” and offers an interesting view, where can be found groups of pelicans, coots, little and great grebe, geese, swans, egrets, herons, cormorants, etc.

At Mila 23, besides traditional fisherman’s meal that should not miss from your options, you can visit the ” Lotca Museum ” (an outdoor presentation of the Olympics in canoeing) and “Ethnographic Center” where is presented the traditional lipovan folk.

On village streets are testimony of the past the old houses, beaten with reeds and painted in blue; Blue Church – an old lipovenian church registered in UNESCO; and not least, the most popular means of transport – the boat, found almost in front of each house.

Types of boats: Fast boats up to 11 seats. The boats and the leader are allocated according to the number of people and availability.

Rate: 150 ron/person – for minimum 4 persons

ATTENTION! During the visit in DDBR perimeter tourists must present the entry permit and proof of payment to controlling bodies.

According to Order no. 610/2009 , the entrance permit for tourists in the Reserve is: 5 lei / person / day; 15 lei / person / week; 30 lei / person / year

The entrance fee for tourists can be paid at:

– the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve Authority (DDBRA) headquarters, Monday – Thursday: 08.00 – 16.30; Friday: 08.00 – 14.00.
