The route combines a touristic route destined for observing special landscapes and specific birds of the Delta, with a beautiful throwback in time by exploring Sulina City. Located in a strategic area, the city has an impressive history and the local attractions testify to the written and unwritten stories.
The local attractions that are worth visiting are the Palace of the former European Danube Commission; the Old Lighthouse (built in 1870, today a museum) and the New Lighthouse that still serves the ships in the area. There is also the Maritime Cemetery which reveals the multinational character of the city through all the tombstones, where sailors, pirates, pilots, mechanics and many other people have found their resting place. If the trip takes place during the summer, a bath in the Black Sea is a “must do ” of the trip!
