What kind of dining experience does the Verada Guesthouse offer?
Local gastronomy is our ace in the hole, and Vera is the chef who turns every meal into a celebration of traditional flavours. All dishes are made with local ingredients: The fresh fish comes from the cherhanaua 100 metres away, and the cheeses are produced by a farm in Măgurele, Tulcea, suppliers Artesana. Vegetables come right from our own garden and honey and jams are homemade.
Breakfast is included in the price and served Swedish buffet-style, with yoghurt, milk and artisan cheeses, free range eggs, zacusca and homemade fig jam.
Lunch and dinner are paid separately and agreed with the holidaymakers, but fish remains the star: catfish, mackerel, carp and smoked mackerel, cooked in borsch, plaice or grilled. Those who don't eat fish can opt for chicken or pork.
To complement the meals, we offer complimentary white wine from the Saon Monastery, and dessert lovers can enjoy our homemade jams. What are the check-in and check-out times?

What is the best season to visit the Danube Delta?
The ideal season to visit the Delta is between April and September, when the weather is pleasant and the Delta's flora and fauna are in full splendour. The summer months are perfect for water excursions and nature walks, but we recommend carrying mosquito repellent as they can be quite present, especially in the evenings.
What's the weather like in the Danube Delta?
The weather in the Danube Delta can vary, with pleasant temperatures in the warm season, but evenings and mornings can be cooler, especially when you're out on the water. The wind can also be quite present during boat trips. We recommend carrying a wind jacket and long-sleeved clothing.
What to pack for a holiday in the Danube Delta?
- Against mosquitoes: Solution with DEET 50% and aloe vera cream to soothe any stinging.
- For boating: Wind jacket, raincoat and a cap or hat to cover your ears as it can be windy.
- Clothing: Quick-drying trousers and t-shirts, long-sleeved blouse or fleece for cooler evenings. Swimsuit and flip-flops for relaxing in the garden.
- Footwear: Trekking sandals or trail trainers for comfortable walking.
- Sun protection: High SPF cream and sunglasses.
- Luggage: It's preferable to use backpacks or rucksacks instead of trolleys, as they're easier to carry on the boat or on day trips to Letea.
