This trip takes you through a true living history: from the quiet canals and lakes of the Delta, to fishing villages steeped in tradition, exotic forests with old oaks and lianas, to the town where the Danube meets the Black Sea - Sulina.

It is the longest trip in our offer, a complete adventure of almost 10 hours, which can become tiring for those less used to the water routes. We highly recommend it to those keen to explore, nature lovers and those curious to discover as much of the heart of the Delta as possible in a single day. The pace is fast, but the sights and stories are worth every moment.

Optional: Meal in Mila23 to be paid separately + Letea forest fee 45 RON

Excursion itinerary:

  • Tulcea: The adventure starts from the pontoon Verada Tourright on the waterfront in Tulcea - the harbour town where the Danube is preparing to empty into thousands of canals. From the moment you board the boat, you can already feel the noise of the city fading away and the tranquillity of the Delta starting to take hold.
  • Mila Channel 36. We let the water carry us along the Mila 36 Canal, a generous route with lively views. On the banks, weeping willow is reflected in the water's mirror, and among the reeds we spot egrets, herons and cormorants gliding in search of food.
  • Sireasa Sud & Șontea Veche. We cross two of the most beautiful canals in this area - the South Sireasa and then the Old Shontea - a veritable green gallery of reeds, poppies and water lilies. It's the perfect place for bird lovers: with a bit of luck, you might see pelicans in flight or swans gracefully gliding by.
  • Lakes Nebunu, Băclănești and Fortuna. We reach the lakes - vast, peaceful, with waters that mirror the sky and the flight of birds. Here, nature seems to have stood still. Lake Fortuna is one of the best known for its biodiversity - home to a host of rare species and a photographer's paradise.
  • Stop in Mile 23. We stop off in one of the most famous fishing villages - Mila 23, the birthplace of Ivan Patzaichin. Here, you have the option to enjoy a traditional fish meal at Ivan's niece's or savour a quiet coffee on a floating pontoon. The atmosphere is warm, and the village architecture - with blue houses and thatched roofs - takes you to a world forgotten by time.
  •  Heracleea - Lopatna - Matița - Merhei. After the break, we continue our route along hidden canals and quiet lakes, where the vegetation seems to whisper stories. It's an area less travelled, but with authentic wild beauty. Along the way, we spot yellow-legged mergansers, lizards, swans and maybe even a turtle lazing in the sun.
  • Letea Forest. We arrive in Letea villagefrom where we are picked up by a safari car to the mysterious forest. Letea Forest is the oldest nature reserve in Romania and unique in Europe. You will see sand dune, oak trees over 400 years old, vines like in a rainforest and, with a bit of luck, wild horses - the untamed symbol of the Delta.
  • Channels Barbbosu - Cardon - with Nuferi. On the way back, we cross spectacular canals where the water is full of white and yellow water lilies. The air is full of wild scents and the silence is broken only by the sound of paddling and birdsong.
  • Free time in Sulina. We arrive in Sulina, the only town of the Delta, a place with a cosmopolitan history and a special charm. You can visit the old far, stroll through historic buildings or get to the wild beachwhere the Danube flows into the Black Sea. You have about 2-3 hours to enjoy yourself.
  •  Return to Tulcea. After a day full of discoveries, we return to Tulcea on the Sulina Canal. The sun sinks low over the water and in the silence of the evening, the Delta leaves you with memories you will never forget.
